Help Michie raise funds for the MG Foundation!
I am excited to be supporting the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) through the MG Walk because the mission is important to me. I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in my mid-20's and have experienced everything from leg and arm fatigue, to eye issues and problems with chewing.
When I was hospitalized three years ago for not being able to chew, swallow, and barely speak, I was terrified. One huge form of support for me during the worst time in my relapse was the MGFA, shining through in multiple ways.
Myasthenia Gravis is a somewhat rare disease and information, research and awareness is extremely low. The MGFA is the only national volunteer health agency in the United States dedicated solely to the fight against myasthenia gravis.
They are committed to finding a cure for myasthenia gravis and closely related disorders, improving treatment options, and providing information and support to people with myasthenia gravis through research, education, community programs, and advocacy.
Since I can't ask for my family and friends to join me on the walk this year, I would love any additional support you can offer for this foundation. It's not just for me, it's for all of us who have MG and are fighting... to stand, walk, run, climb, speak, swallow, see, and breathe.
